Sophia's layout from DeLuz Housing Class

This is the page I designed for my 1st Class for DeLuz Housing last month.  We had a grand turnout and I think that all those that attended had a great time.  Looking forward to our next class at DeLuz housing March 21st.  Email me at hrkinney@hotmail.com to sign up:)

I love my Reflections book to help design single pages.  Using my Cricut to cut the letters, and green corner embellishments.  I stamped the country on the B&T paper and also stamped the remainder of the title.  I also used my zip-strip from the paper to adorn the left side of the page; those little babies are my favorite, easy embellishment.

Lets see what crafts we can do with Studio J!

So yesterday I posted a Studio J layout that I did  using two different themes...today I wanted to show some things I did with the printed .jpgs that come with my membership. These are just a few things I've made with my images this time.  I've also made cards, jewelry, t-shirts and more!

I made this heart basket using my cricut Art Philosophy and easily added my printed 3x3 image

This is one of my favorites as I love all things St Pats!    I spray painted empty bottles black. Printed my .jpg image and glued onto bottle quickly with Liquid Glass.  I glued on some ribbon and poof instant table decoration/gift!

Breaking Studio J into different page feel

So if you have ever wanted to use Studio J for just one page here is an example of how I used ONE LAYOUT to make totally separate looking pages.  Both pages were made using Sweetheart papers. Take a look and see if you can guess how I did it...then scroll down to see if you were right:
Any guesses yet?  So using Sweetheart papers I designed the page on the right by changing the papers to shades of green.  On the left hand page I ADDED journalling blocks OVERTOP of the green papers, then dragged in different B&T papers into those boxes.  Since you are adding them as your own and hiding what's underneath you can make those papers what ever color you want them to be:)  On this example on the left I added four separate journal boxes. 1 ea for the red plaid pcs, 1 for the multi-flowered paper, and finally 1 for the polka dot paper.  It really was pretty simple.

For the clovers, I used 4 stitched hearts rotated with a big brad for the center.  I then highlighted all 5 items (while holding down the shift key) and copied/pasted multiple times. At the bottom while the sets were still completely highlighted I resized them smaller.

You'll also note that I turned all the photo wells into text boxes.

Spring is in the air on CTMH TV

Spring is in the air on CTMH TV

For your convenience I have made a page tab at the top of my blog for you to see a full listing of CTMH TV how to videos!  Watch the videos, learn some fun techiniques...and if you really like the projects a complete supply list is a click away:)

Check out this new Studio J technique

This is a layout I made at Leadershare in October but never got around to sharing with you all.  See on the right hand page how ONE photo takes up SIX photo wells.  This is a favorite technique of mine.  What you do is drag the same photo into each of the wells that you want the photo to be a part of, in this case six of them.  Blow up the photo size and grab onto the big hand over the photo and drag them until they align.  This is super easy because the other wells will shadow the one you're dragging making this a snap!  I always enlarge  my whole viewing screen up a little to also help with lining it up straight.  I use this a lot when I have a 4 x 6 photo  that I don't want to crop and the layout I've chosen has two side by side 4 x 3 wells, etc.

Another tip I used with this was in the left hand corner I changed the colors of the MyStickease, by placing Vellum journalling block over top two of the Stickers.  The rest of the stickers I layer on top of the journal block.

Something that I wanted to share from the heart

You absolutely must see this video. It is taken from a British series where a guy called Gareth Malone takes a group of people and turns them into a choir. This time he's taken a group of military wives whose husbands are all away in Afghanistan and turned them into a choir. Gareth looks about 16yrs old but is actually in his mid-30s and a Choir master for the London Symphony Orchestra, among other things. They wrote a song based on excerpts from letters written by the couples whilst apart and this is the beautiful result.
The single is out in the UK on Monday and thousands have been pre-ordered and all the money raised is going to military charities.
Enjoy!

(I had this sent to me sweetly by my boss today, and really wanted to share)

Happy Groundhogs Day!

Okay, so anyone that knows me, I mean really knows me, knows I like to celebrate any and all holidays and events of all shapes and sizes.  I believe that we each should live life daily as if its our last AND that we should celebrate everything under the sun.  I have passed that on to my children (hopefully)!

My daughter just made me go out and get her a "special brown Groundhog's Day" shirt for school.  So in order to help her celebrate I just made these cute cards...see Elemental papers really do go with everything!

Remember to have a GREAT DAY, and feel free to make up your own holiday...its a totally liberating feeling!

Stuff Crafters say video - super funny!

So I saw this You Tube Video posted on Fabulously Artsy's blog today, and had to share it.  SO FUNNY and sadly sometimes SO TRUE~

Craft on friends!
