Saturday scrapbooking in the calm

I love Saturday mornings!  My whole family sleeps in, NOT ME!  My husband never understands why I set my alarm and still get up ubber early, sneak downstairs make a coffee and sit in the peace of the morning and craft.  Today, I'm chatting with you all about crafting.  Its my favorite time of the day; but then again I'm a morning person and NO ONE else in my house is with the exception of our youngest Kennedy (who has now joined me on the couch -- so off goes my easy listening music and on comes Moana).

Today I'm working on downloading and editing family photos from a recent trip I made to be printed to slide into mini albums that are already pre-made (thanks to an amazing class I took thanks to Dana Simone-Kurtz).  I'll share pictures when I finish the projects.

Reason to remember to scrapbook

I just came home from a family funeral in South Carolina.  What I learned, or should say relearned from the week was that my hobby that people often kid me about or tease me about taking "so many pictures" in the end will have as much value to everyone else as it does to me.

As the family gathered at multiple times through out the week, at the large "main house", the one thing people did was sit for hours and pour through the family photo albums that were meticulously kept and held the last 100 plus years of the family history.  Each album was chronological, each photo carefully labeled with all the important photo details.  Was it decorated? NO.  But it was neat, organized, functional, and will be cherished.  Most family members weren't even aware she had those photos of them.  It was like one last gift to us all!

Just thought I send a reminder for those times when you wonder if what we do matters, it does!
