Roxie layouts (part 3)

Now this layout look familiar to those who read my blog regularly.  At Convention last summer we made this super cute layout during our make and take time.  My Roommate and I decided that we both wanted to have ourselves scrapbooked more in our own books (okay so I twisted her arm but she agreed smilingly); so we each made the layouts about the other THEN swapped!  If you look at the Roxie tab on the right of the screen you'll see my original version I gifted....her is Dana Simone-Kurtz from dsdoodles.blogspot.com take on it (I will forgive her for the awful picture of me at my front door because she said some super sweet things on the pull out tabs)!
Featured in the pictures with me are Dana (when we snuck on stage for a photo op) and Patty Smith before the awards banquet.

You should ALWAYS sign and date your work, especially gifts....years from now I will cherish this layout knowing it was made for me with love from a dear friend

I love these pocketed tabs...all for $3.99.  TOO CUTE

Roxie Workshop (part 2)

Using Ta-Da! from Magic and Roxie this is the layout I came up with to showcase my niece Ashlie and Baby-Love Charlie!  Watch for the hidden journalling using Jeannette's tip from the book.

Roxie Layouts using Magic (part 1)

Being a girly-girl with some edge (which means I'm not a bubble-gum pink and ribbons kind of gal), I fell in total LOVE with our Roxie paper collection as soon as I saw it last summer.  I've been looking forward to January's workshop since then (I knew it would be Roxie lol).  The layout design is Card Trick from Magic.
These layouts were inspired by Kay Pekin...we started them at her last weekend getaway and I never assembled or embellished them....thanks Kay for the jump start.  I LOVE this layout

I used the dimensional element for the R, and Sponged it Vanilla Cream to match the Cricut cut card stock letters.  I then 2nd generation random stamped on letters in Desert Sand

Studio J layout 3 (used in my 2012 calendar)

Here come Studio J layout 3 from my calendar project:
I love this Members ONLY paper that is offered right now in Studio J! The rustic look works great with outdoor photos.  These photos by the way were taken with my little purse camera's timer and set on a rock.  We had just gone for a professional shoot that's why we were all dressed alike, and we had stopped at a roadside turnoff....I actually like these photos more because we are more relaxed.

Scrapping-time

I'm working on my workshop projects for class tomorrow....can I tell you I just LOVE Roxie papers!

Let me know which CTMH papers are your favorites...looking forward to your thoughts!

Studio J layout 2 (used in my 2012 calendar)

Here is the 2nd of the 6 layouts I used for my calendar projects via Studio J.  One tip I used was remembering that they would be shown SEPARATELY in the calendar so any names or journalling, along with making sure the photos of each of us was spread equally between pages.

I love the way in Studio J I can mix and match coloring of accessories without having to have every color ever manufactured on hand at my house.  Its funny I embellish tons more when Studio J-ing because a little or a lot is all the same price!

Remember that in January to take advantage of the Perfect 10 Special, where those with Studio J memberships get the 10th layout free when you purchase 9 others in the same order.

Studio J layout 1 (used in my 2012 calendar)

Here is layout 1 from the six that I did for my 2012 Calendars
Go to my website ctmh.com/heatherplotzke to get started preserving your own history.

Take a look at how I overlapped My Stickease, changed their size, rotated them, and even had them hang off the edge of the pages.  I would say I use the My Stickease stickers a thousand times more in Studio J than I do with Traditional Scrapping because of all the various ways I can manipulate and alter them.

Scrapped Calendars made easy = STUDIO J

Imagine scrapbooking 6 handmade calendars of your families photos for gifts!  OMG that's a ton of work that's 72 pages, 72 pages of hand scrapping AND you don't have a copy for yourself of those layouts.  UGHHH right!?!?!  That would be more hours than I care to imagine of repeat scrapbooking (which for me is no fun).

Now that was my challenge this year, I had 6 people to make 2012 calendars for AND I wanted a copy of the pages for my own books.

SUPER EASY SOLUTION with same, actually more detailed, results...I made 6 layouts (using my Studio J membership) AND ordered 7 copies!!!!!!!!  Hours involved = roughly 3 hrs of Studio J time (and my layouts were very detailed and decorated).  I had ordered the calendars from my Close To My Heart Consultant (oh that's me lol), and quickly used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (with the help of my girlfriend Camille) to cut out the names of the months on 6 sheets of cardstock.  Assembly of ALL the calendars took one night of TV watching...which I would have been doing anyways.  AND WHAM....I was done and the results were loved!  I will definitely be doing this year after year from now on!!!!!!!!!!!!

Below is a quick look at the calendar pages, and over the next few weeks I will be posting closeups of the layouts.  So stay tuned AND let me know what you think.

January's special "Perfect 10" Campaign is really perfect for this purpose.  With your Membership BUY 9 Layouts GET 10th one FREE!

I love this layout it was made using the new layout template that allows you to add the photoshop layout to fill the entire page.  This was a large previously made square collage, then I dropped it into Studio J and added My Stickease to it!

Note how I used the 2nd half of the layout from January
