FIRST....I've been blogging lately, not that you'd notice from this blog I find out today, because even though I thought they were posting from my not so smart, "smart" phone....they were NOT.  So you have been missing all of my funny little antics that I've been typing away thinking that have been posting...WRONG!

Harvest Welcome Wood papercraft sign

Here is my latest holiday wood and papercrafted creation.  I have to admit I really am in love with these fun and hands on projects of mixed mediums.  There is something so simple yet permanent about them, unlike some of the other papercrafts we all spend so much time on.  As a reminder all of my Paper items are my own (CTMH brand) from my website at heatherplotzke.ctmh.com and the Wood set comes from Woodcreationscrafts.com.  One of my favorite things about this pumpkin project is that I actually mixed and blended two paper packets together.  Another fun thing is on several of the smaller details on the papers I went in with the liquid glass to highlight the image and make it pop.

Wine Glass Charms

For Thanksgiving dinner we will be spending our evening with great friends at a large blending of families.  Last year our Hostess mentioned that she wished she had something for her wine glasses so people could tell them apart...with me but with it being such a large group that was no easy task to find for her.  So I tucked that idea away and pondered on it all year....and recently surprised her with these so she'd be ready for this year's feast of around 20!

They are coming...the Holidays

I can't fight any longer no matter how hard I tried, it's coming...CHRISTMAS!  Today is Veteran's Day and people have been posting how they have their trees up. Give me a break already...

...so I give up I started too.  I ordered my Studio layout mini photos for my Holiday  cards.  I wrote and printed the letters that stuffed inside. Then printed out my return address labels.

I also started filling in the dates for my 2016 calendars that I give as gifts. 

Feeling accomplished...next!

Make it from your Heart journal

Check out this super cute journal designed by my upline Bren Yule, featuring our new CTMH Cricut cartridge Artistry.  We used local maps gotten from the visitor center for free (notice mine shows Camp Pendleton and Oceanside area!!!!), and glued them onto composition notebooks using Bonding Memories glue.

Sticker magic in Studio J - Tips

Look at the My Stickease Sticker of Santa on the Right hand page.  That was originally a full sticker of Santa. I added stretched a photo well on that page so a moved Santa, tucked him behind my photo wells.

 So remember you can either crop, move stickers off pages, or tuck them behind other items by layering for fun effects just like with real paper stickers.  In Studio J as an BONUS feature we can also change the SIZE of the stickers!!!!!!! LOVE THAT FEATURE!!!!!

Cabin wood decor using Jacksonville

So I made a fun wood home decor piece for a friend's 50+ 10 birthday (Yup that's really what he's calling it lol!).  Jim's favorite place in the world is his CABIN so I wanted to capture that here in my gift for him.  I used CTMH's Jacksonville papers (now retired sorry everyone I grabbed them as they were going, going, gone in August!) which fit perfect with my vision.  I distressed the papers with Cocoa ink before gluing them down.  All the embellishments are from my site heatherplotzke.ctmh.com  and the wood pieces came from woodcreationscrafts.com

Journalling through photos in Studio J

Remember that in Studio J you can change journal and title wells into photo wells too!  Journalling is important!!!!  But sometimes the photos say it all, like in this example, the photo of one of the light displays of our yearly event shows it off better than I could describe it.  I still made sure to include the date, and extra names elsewhere on the pages though.  heatherplotzke.ctmh.com

Studio J Outling Title Effect Tip

Check out the title on the right side--I made that effect by copying and pasting the title right over top itself and then changing the color of the top copy to colonial white from cranberry; and just offsetting slightly.  Super easy to do and it makes a great outlining look!

Kirigami card and bell

So this just happened!  That moment when I realized my 9.5 year old has way more talent than me when it ANYTHING doing with folding! She loves Oragami and her new thing is now Kirigami cards [didn't even know that was the term for these beauties].  Way to go SaraBeth!!!!

Studio J paper retirement list for September 1st

Studio J time -- I love you!

I bought this wood cut out from Wood Creations Crafts to make for the 4th and just hadn't gotten a chance too. With all the sad things going on around the nation lately it made me stop and reflect so when I had some time to craft I made this my 1st project!

The Statue of Liberty is 2 different colors of CTMH'S glitters, I love how she turned out.   I mirrored the effect by using out glitter gel on the U & D, and our glitter tapes on the word block below.  So easy!

Umbrella wreath

Look what $3 and some hot glue can get you.  I took a foam board and cut it to a circle  shape, poking the umbrellas right into place.  When everything was set I hot glued them down and then cut off sticks.  I had planned on blinging  it up a bit but my family out voted me and hung it up as is lol!
